Our Services
Wellness Exams:
Dr. Furman recommends yearly wellness exams for each of your pets. Yearly wellness exams are important for providing the best health care and ensuring the longevity of your best friends. Dogs and cats age quicker than you or I and they are unable to tell us when they feel a little under the weather. As part of the yearly wellness exam, Dr. Furman will listen to your pet’s heart to detect murmurs or increased lung sounds that would indicate a problem. He will perform an abdominal palpation to ascertain pain in areas and abnormal size or shape to organs. He will also be palpating for tumors. He will examine the eyes checking for ocular changes and ears checking for infections. He will also check for Dental disease. A thorough physical exam can detect a variety of illnesses and prevent potential diseases.
Vaccines:
Dr. Furman recommends yearly vaccines for the health and longevity of your pet. Vaccines have saved the lives of many pets. Before effective vaccines pets routinely died from Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Leukemia, Rabies, and numerous other upper respiratory viruses. Current vaccine protocols protect our pets. Puppies and Kittens need additional protection during the critical time period of 6 to 20 weeks of age. A series of vaccines are given during this time period every 3 weeks until the puppy or kitten is completely immunized.
